Season at a glance
Opening Day: February 28, 2026
Last regular season games: Saturday, April 25, 2026
Draft Week: February 2–6, 2026
What happens after I register?
After registration closes:
  • Evaluations are held Saturday January 31st and makeups on Monday February 2nd (all divisions above Tee Ball). Watch for your League Age time slot.
  • Managers draft rosters during Draft Week (February 2–6, 2026).
  • Once teams are formed, managers contact families with practice schedules and team details.
  • Game schedules are released shortly after.
Evaluations and drafts are not tryouts — every registered player is placed on a team.
How do I know what division we will play in?
Division eligibility is determined by Little League International league-age rules. At DPLL, the only guaranteed placements are:
  • League Age 13 (13U) – Juniors
  • League Age 12 (12U) – Majors
All other league ages are assigned during Draft Week by team managers, with player safety and a fun, competitive atmosphere as top priorities.
Use the Official League Age Calculator
Softball league age is determined differently and typically follows the calendar year.
Where are practices and games held?
Primary locations:
  • Dr. Phillips Little League Fields: 10496 Bissell Street, Orlando, FL 32836
  • Dr Phillips Community Park: 8249 Buenavista Woods Blvd, Orlando, FL 32836
Some divisions may play interleague and travel to other local Little League parks. Details are shared after the season begins.
What’s included with my registration fee?
All players receive: hat, jersey, belt, and socks.
Families provide: bats, helmets, gloves, cleats, and baseballs.
Some divisions have helmet and bat requirements. Please check with the league or your team manager if you have questions.
Do Little League bats have to say “USA” on them?
For most divisions through Majors, bats must be USA Baseball certified (look for the USA Baseball mark). For older divisions (Juniors and above), bat standards can differ. If you’re unsure, ask your team manager before purchasing.
Will there be a championship at the end of the season?
Yes. DPLL offers an end-of-season tournament for all divisions above Tee Ball. Tee Ball celebrates with Friday Night Lights to recognize growth and teamwork.
Do I have to volunteer?
Yes. All families above Tee Ball complete one 3-hour concessions shift. DPLL is volunteer-run — our managers and board members are volunteers, and we rely on our community to keep the league strong.
How do I know when my concession shift is?
Your team manager will share your shift details. The concessions schedule is also posted on www.dpll.org.
What happens if it rains?
If lightning is within 10 miles of the facility, our lightning indicator will alert the fields and all players must leave the fields. Play resumes only after an all-clear is sounded — 30 minutes after the last lightning strike. Heavy rain may also delay games due to field conditions.
